Trump's Voter Fraud Speech to the Nation

Thomas J. Raleigh · July 20, 2026 · 2 min read

In fairness, and to better understand Trump’s claims that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged”, I listened to his entire speech to the nation last Thursday night on FOX.  And the analyses that took place afterward.  After promises of “new shocking discoveries” and “never released classified material”, I’m afraid I learned nothing new nor can I say any of Trump’s repeated claims made any sense.

My take…

1.     From the get-go, Trump claimed that China stole sensitive voter files of 220 million Americans, millions more than the 161 million people who actually voted. He described it as “the largest compromise of election data in history”.  He failed to provide any evidence to that effect.

2.     What’s more, after 62 failed Federal and State lawsuits alleging fraud, Trump’s own SCOTUS declined to rule on the case.  Made it hard for me to validate anything I was hearing.

3.     I’m sure everyone remembers the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA), the cybersecurity defense agency for the US government, when it announced that the 2020 presidential election was the most “secure election in US history”.  If you don’t remember that CISA announcement, you might recall that Trump fired CISA Director Chris Krebs days later.

4.     In spite of Trump’s ad-nauseam claims of fraud, both the US National Election Commission and National Association of Election Officials agreed with the CISA finding in March 2021.  Soon after, the National Intelligence Council (NIC), DOJ and DHS followed suit.

5.     On the night of the speech, John Solomon was interviewed live on White House grounds.  He indicated that the intelligence community had “zero evidence” that foreign powers altered votes in the 2020, 2022, or 2024, elections.  Solomon, a conservative investigative journalist, and friend of Trump and Rudy Giuliani is a newly hired Special Government Employee (SGE) brought in to spearhead efforts relating to Trump’s alleged foreign interference.  After his inadvertent faux pas, and being bum-rushed from reporters, he’s not likely to be there much longer…

6.     Strangely, Trump made no reference to any voter fraud in the 2016 or 2024 elections that he won. Both conducted under Democratic Administrations by the way.

7.     Don’t forget. On January 2, 2021, it was Trump who called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, asking for an adjustment of 11,780 votes to swing the election back in his favor. And it was the Trump administration that was in charge during the elections.  So…who be the real culprit???

8.     In the final analysis, this is simply a last-ditch effort to cast doubt on 2026 mid-term elections.
