On the World Stage

I do indeed believe that Trump has become exceedingly reckless, and I do wish more MAGA people would take note.  We should condemn the constant anger and division this guy spreads.  It’s taking a toll.  But sadly, we say nothing!

A month ago, at the G7, the President of the United States stood on a global stage and told the world that American elections are “rigged” and American media is “corrupt” and “fake”.  He smeared his two Democratic predecessors.

America’s own president basically says you can’t trust the American democratic election process or a free press.

Please tell me.  How does that fit MAGA’s “America First” narrative.

If you truly love this country, you don’t fly overseas to tell the world our elections are a joke and our journalists are the enemy. You defend the right of every American to vote, you respect the peaceful transfer of power, and you accept that an independent press will hold you accountable.

A president who keeps calling our elections “rigged” only ends up compromising our allies and suggesting to authoritarian adversaries watching that the United States no longer believes its own ideals.
