Hey MAGA! Tell me about your issues with socialism, again.

Hey MAGA. Your “dear leader” says that socialism is “an existential threat to individual freedoms and traditional American values”.

He repeatedly claims that socialism is “really communism”. “You will lose your home, you lose your apartment”, he says.  He attacks local, and state-level progressive programs as “creeping socialism”. In particular, he calls NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani a “communist mayor” whose policies will “completely destroy the traditional American way of life”.

So, as it relates to “socialism”, which one of these state or government-run socialistic programs or agencies designed to promote the common good do you not like?

Social Security: Publicly funded retirement, survivor, and disability insurance.

Medicare: Government-run health insurance for older adults.

Medicaid: Government-provided health insurance for low-income individuals.

Food Assistance: Programs like SNAP (food stamps) and WIC that distribute state-funded aid.

Public Housing: Government-owned or subsidized housing for low-income residents.

Welfare Payments: Direct cash assistance for families in need.

Public K-12 Schools: Fully tax-funded and universally free primary and secondary education.

Public Universities: State-supported higher education systems.

Federal Student Loans: Government-backed financing for college students.

The U. S. Postal Service: A government-run corporation providing nationwide mail delivery.

Public Transit and Roads: State-maintained highways, bridges, and public busing systems.

Water and Sewage: Publicly owned municipal utilities.

Public Libraries and Parks: Tax-funded community spaces open to all citizens.

Public Landfills and Trash Collection: Municipal waste management services.

Fire Departments: Tax-funded municipal services protecting all properties.

Police Departments: Government-run public safety and law enforcement monopolies.

The Military: A government-owned and operated national defense force.

Public Defenders: Government-funded legal representation for criminal defendants.
