Gravitas has left the building...

I’ve always believed the office of the presidency carried a certain level of dignity and character, as in the words spoken by the men who held it. 

Instead of calculated thoughtfulness, inspiration, and appropriate restraint, what spills out of that office today are crude insults, unhinged taunts, and hate-filled diatribes.  Sadly, it’s not just about the man who speaks these things…it’s more about the mindless people who believe him.

Gravitas has clearly left the building.  It has been replaced by the normalization of vulgarity, dehumanization, and abject ignorance steeped in falsehoods.

Make no mistake.  There is a direct link between this choice of language and cultural decay. If left unchallenged…it eventually threatens everything this country stands for.
