Who was the dumb-ass who came up with this back-of-the-napkin idea to build an entire political movement around such a cockamamie ideology? A counterproductive movement that actively seeks to return an entire society to a less advanced, and less civilized time when people held views that were primitive, if not brutal.

While modern economies are moving toward high-tech automation, artificial intelligence, and specialized services, this boneheaded MAGA approach pursues a regressive agenda built on an outdated 20th-century model. Heading up this shit show with his low-brow “drill, baby, drill”, and “clean coal” rally cries, Trump avoids any semblance of intellectual curiosity by keeping his followers in “Stupidville”, railing against anything that promotes alternative energy options.

Following his reckless mass deportation of our dedicated workforce, the man then boasts about “trillions” being invested in brand-new manufacturing plants across the country.

None of his claims are true, but here’s the problem even if they were.

First, new manufacturing plant construction has actually fallen off considerably since Trump returned to office. Second, even if manufacturing plant construction did increase by some miracle, there wouldn’t be any qualified people left to work the shifts. I don’t see Gen Z standing in line. Regardless, American consumers wouldn’t be remotely close to affording anything these plants produced.

The core criticism is that this movement, reserved for dupes, is fundamentally backward—applying archaic methods to entirely new world problems.

In the end, it’s hard for me to understand how anyone in their right mind could solve the challenges of modern global technology, a shifting world order, or fast changing climate by attempting to replicate the economic or social conditions of a bygone era.

Make America great again?

Oh, please!!!
